Blake Shelton has ended his record-setting, historic two-decade partnership with his longtime record label, Warner Music Nashville.
The announcement was made in a press release on Tuesday morning (Sept. 3), indicating that the split was amicable.
“I moved to Nashville when I was 17 to sing country music and get a record deal,” Shelton, 48, shared in a statement. “Along with the support from Warner, my dreams came true, and then some. It’s impossible to name everyone who has had a hand in all the success we enjoyed, but a huge and heartfelt thank you to the Giant Records, Warner Bros. Records and Warner Music Nashville staff and family.” - Blake Shelton
“Working alongside Blake these past 23 years has been an honor and a privilege,” Warner Music Nashville shared collectively. “Together, we’ve celebrated a record number of hit songs, sold-out tours and award wins. Blake’s talent is undeniable, but that wit of his, and the countless moments of laughter he’s given us remind us how fun this business of music can be. While our time together has come to an end, we count ourselves amongst his biggest fans and are grateful for the ride with this true gentleman and icon.”
Blake Shelton burst onto the music scene in 2001 with his debut single "Austin," which quickly climbed to No. 1 and launched a string of 28 chart-topping hits. Throughout his career, Shelton has achieved 11 billion global streams, sold 13 million albums, and moved 52 million singles. His impressive list of awards includes 10 CMA Awards, such as Entertainer of the Year and five consecutive Male Vocalist of the Year titles, along with numerous honors from the ACM, AMA, CMT, and People’s Choice Awards.
In early 2025, Shelton is set to take the stage in Las Vegas for a series of six performances from February 5 to February 15 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
The Oklahoma-born star has long considered a Las Vegas residency and is thrilled to bring his music to the iconic venue.
"We’ve been discussing a Vegas residency for several years, and everything finally aligned for a run next year," Shelton said in a statement. "The Colosseum is such a legendary venue, and I’m excited to bring some honky-tonk neon to the Palace."
The shows are scheduled for February 5, 7, 8, 12, 14, and 15, with each performance beginning at 8 p.m. local time.
